Pale gray-brown plumage. Darker brown primaries. Long, white wing stripe. Red eye surrounded by pale blue, teardrop-shaped orbital ring. Black mark on face below the eye. Long, black bill. Long, dark brown tail with white corners. Rounded, fan-shaped tail. Pink-reddish legs. Sexes similar. 11 to 12 inches in length.

Nesting

2 cream-buff colored eggs. They have an incubation period of 13-14 days. Fledging occurs 13-16 days after hatching. The nest is flimsy and made from sticks. It is built low in a bush or mesquite. Both parents incubate the eggs.
